Yoga for Beginners – Part 1

I’m so excited to share a new Yoga for Beginners YouTube series with you that I’ve created for those of you who want to get started with yoga. A lot of thought has gone into this as I wanted to make it as relevant as possible.

Are the videos for me?

They are for anyone who is new to yoga. Anyone who might feel a bit intimidated to go to a yoga studio. They are also for anyone who might have done some yoga before but then for whatever reason didn’t for a long time and wants to go back into it. Maybe you don’t have time to attend yoga classes because you’re busy looking after your family! I completely get that (trust me… I don’t get out of the house much) so I kept the videos really short.

What will I learn?

The first two parts will give you an overview of some of the basic yoga postures. The videos are only about 15 minutes long and can be done at any time of the day. There is no specific order that they have to be practised in. I would only suggest to always end with at least 2min of relaxation (Savasana).

In part 3 I will show you two simple versions of Sun Salutations which can be practiced every day and are a complete practice in themselves!

Part 4 will include a little breathing exercise at the start and then a short and calming evening practice.

I would love to hear your feedback on this! Let me know what you enjoy and what you think I can improve. I really want to make this relevant, approachable and personal!

  1. I LOVE yoga and swear by it. Can always tell when I haven’t done it for a few days. It really helps with loosening me up. Look forward to watching your vids 🙂 #sharethejoy

    1. They are for beginners! Yoga in general is good to increase bone density but if you are uncertain check with your physician first. Always make sure to listen to your body and monitor yourself during and after any physical exercises that you do. I’ve got many clients in their 60s and 70s who do yoga!
