Time to look after yourself – Natural Health Star box

I’ve recently started teaching post-natal yoga classes and it made me look back at that very special time, the first few months after my children were born. They are now 4 and nearly 3 years old and even though it hasn’t actually been that long, it feels like a lifetime since those early sleepless nights!

I am getting a lot more sleep now… even though at least one of them will usually wake up at night… I’m not breast-feeding anymore or carrying around a baby all the time. And I can now occasionally enjoy a hot shower for more than 3 minutes without having to worry that something terrible might happen to my kids while I leave the room.

What hasn’t changed is that I am a Mother. “Mama” in our household. Doctors, my kid’s teachers, strangers call me “Mum”. I do what every mother does one way or another 24/7 – I look after my family. I care for them, I make sure they have food, clean clothes, get to school on time, wear school uniform on school uniform days, the right jumpers or costumes for non-school-uniform days, help them with their reading and writing, look after them when they are sick etc etc.

What I don’t do often enough is take time to look after myself. Even though I am a Yoga Teacher and it’s my job to teach people how to look after themselves, I admit that I’m guilty of not taking my own advice enough! Self-care is a topic that is more and more talked about but I think we still don’t give it enough importance in our daily lives!

Luckily my friend Nisha and her business partner Preet have come up with this beautiful Natural Health Star box of self-care goodies and gave me one of them to try.

For me yoga plays a vital part in looking after myself but since I’ve become a yoga teacher and yoga has become my business I sometimes need a little bit extra which is why I loved this self-care box so much! I think it’s a fabulous gift to remind mothers that in order to look after someone else you need to look after yourself!

In the box you will find things like a pack of Positivitea (you can choose from 7 different flavours), handcream, lavender bath salts, chocolate and more! There is also a lovely message “You’re amazing, Keep shining” which I put straight on my fridge of course!! This will be my mantra from now on to make sure that I do something for myself – even if it’s just enjoying a cup of herbal tea in peace – every day.

If you are looking for Christmas presents for an amazing woman in your life, an amazing mother you know or for YOURSELF then the Natural Health Star box might be a great option! At £30 it doesn’t break the bank and if you use the code SHINE10 you can event get a 10% discount!

Disclosure: I have been given one of the boxes free of charge and I’m writing about it because I honestly believe that mothers deserve a little treat sometimes!
