sorry I have been a little quiet lately… even my husband is asking me where the new blog posts are! It’s a little sad that apparently he prefers to check the blog to see what’s happening at home, but OK… I’m officially a blogger now so I will take it as a compliment!
So after weeks and weeks of changing and revising here it is – my new site! I have changed over from Weebly to WordPress which is not a straightforward move so had to have some help on this. Weebly was great and really easy to use so perfect when you first want to set up a website and know you will keep it really simple or you don’t quite know yet where you are going with it.
What I can say is that this process of changing over has been quite painful (I had to cut my losses here and there) so if you know you want to blog seriously don’t start on Weebly!
As after four months of blogging I have really started to enjoy it more and more I have decided that Wordpress will be much more suitable for me! I haven’t used WordPress before so will have to start from scratch here again but hopefully it won’t take too long to get my head around this. I’m currently reading all of You Baby Me Mummy’s blogging tips as Aby is sharing some great advice here for WordPress users.
I really hope you like the look of the new site which I’m still trying to keep simple but hopefully more user friendly. Of course I’m still running into a few issues now and then – like for example having Barack Obama’s Twitter feed on my site for a few hours!! – there are still a few technical bits and pieces to sort out and don’t even get me started on SEO but generally I’m very happy with it and look forward to start writing again!!
Have you ever changed platforms and did you have to cut your losses with a few things? If you do have some WordPress hints and tips for me then I would love to hear them!
The new website looks great! I have never heard of weebly before, but it sounds like you have made the right decision to move to WordPress. I started with blogger, because I’d had a blogger account since I was a teenager. I find it easy to use, but I am thinking about maybe making the move to self hosted WordPress.

I’m not quite in the same position as you. I’ve just started blogging again after using a wordpress.com blog. I’m not using my own domain and feeling my way around wordpress.org. I’m finding it really tough going, I have seen some of You baby me mummy’s posts but I need to read more. I’m just plugging away one step at a time! Your sight looks amazing – you are doing a great job.

Well done! I moved from Blogger to WordPress last summer with my first blog (The Little Life of Ickle Pickle) and have never looked back. I started this one in the New Year with WordPress. I much prefer it. Good Luck x
