My Captured Moment – British Mother’s Day at the pool

It’s Thursday and time for another Captured Moment! This time it’s about last Sunday which was British Mother’s Day. I’m specifically saying British Mother’s Day as Mother’s Day seems to be different in every country! Well at least in France (31st May) and Germany (10th May)!

So last Sunday we spent with my father-in-law who was over to visit us from France and went to the local swimming pool which was nice and empty for once! My special treat was that I was allowed to sit in the cafe and enjoy a lovely coffee all by myself! Well it’s the little things that bring you joy once you are a mum, right?

The kids had a lot of fun with Papy and Papa and afterwards we went for lunch at a Sri Lankan restaurant (mainly because we hadn’t been organised to book a table at the pub) and then took all afternoon so recover from the very spicy food!!

It was great to have Papy with us for a few days as not only did he sort out lots of DIY in the house but he also managed to get Maya to say a few French words! She has certainly perfected singing Frere Jacques and saying “Bonjour, ca va?” and came out with the absolutely brilliant phrase: “Papa, can Maya druecken the iPad, s’il te plait?” For those of you who don’t speak Gerfranglish…. this is supposed to mean Daddy, can Maya please touch the iPad?

  1. Love the language mix, and the recovery from your spicy lunch …. lol. What a lovely day; so many special moments. It’s so special when many generations get together, what a treat! I look forward to get my little one into the pool sometime. Thanks for sharing. #MyCapturedMoment 11

  2. Sounds like you had a lovely, relaxing mother’s day and to be honest it really doesn’t get much better. I asked for (and in all fairness got) a lie in, a bunch of daffodils and a box of chocolates. These pictures are great and will be fun to look back on in years to come.
Thank you so much for linking up to #mycapturedmoment xx
