Well it’s actually quite exciting… there are a bunch of very enthusiastic Daddy Bloggers on Instagram who do yoga all of the sudden!!

I don’t actually know how it happened but they asked my yoga teacher colleague Zaz and myself for help so we put together an Instagram Dads Yoga challenge for these two guys and called it #dadyogaoff!

What is so amazing about this is that they are complete beginners who have never done yoga before and they are actually doing really really well! Of course we’ve definitely had some interesting variations and facial expressions 🙂

It’s not too late to join or simply head over to Instagram search for #dadsyogaoff and cheer them on! It started out with Rod AKA @moderndadpages (left) and Alan AKA @omgitsagirl2015 (right) but we’ve now got many more dads who’ve joined in which is fantastic!

I really love that they are giving it a go and if they continue like this they might just be my next Inspiring Yoga Dads!

So these are the poses that they have to do (one every day):

Day 1: Warrior 2
Day 2: Side Plank
Day 3: Matsyendrasana
Day 4: Eagle Pose
Day 5: Half Handstand
Day 6: Dancer
Day 7: Wheel / Bridge
Day 8: Crow
Day 9: Gomukhasana
Day 10: Sun Salutations!

We’ve given them video tutorials for each of them so they (kind of) know what they are doing!

So if you are a dad on Instagram then join them for the challenge and if you’re not a dad but you are on Instagram then head over there to give them a like and a lovely comment!

  1. Good, as many individuals could benefit from yoga. I can recall when in my teens :- I babysat children for a friend. When we got chatting, turns out she attended yoga. At that time I thought it was only for fit super slim women.

In later years I have attended yoga classes at Community Centre. I am overweight and have arthritis. A friend invited me along to the class. So thought ok I’ll give it a go. Tutor :- mature, with arthritis. I found her very helpful and considerate. She took in to account that most of us had arthritis etc. She was well experienced and very encouraging. So :- All the Best lads and lassies enjoy your yoga classes.

    1. Thank you so much for sharing this! Also yoga teacher come in different shapes and sizes, different backgrounds and different conditions! They are usually yoga teachers because they need yoga themselves so it’s really important to find someone who is just right for what you are looking for.
