Jamie Lloyd, Fitness Guru to the Yummy Mummies of South West London has kindly given me this great recipe:
Jamie’s Turbocharge
Ingredients (serves 1 adult, 1 toddler and 1 baby)
– 1 apple
– handful of spinach leaves
– 1/2 celery stick
– 1/4 cucumber
– 1 lime
– 1/3 pineapple
– 1 avocado
Add the apple, spinach, celery, cucumber, lime (peel it!) and pineapple (remove outside bits and cut into chunks) into the juicer then mix the juice with the avocado in the blender.
If you don’t feel like using (which then means washing up) the blender as well as the juicer you can leave out the avocado but remember it’s a Superfood and a great source of potassium (important for function of the cells and organs) and Vitamin C, E, K and B Vitamins!!
Personally I’m not a great fan of celery but I can tell you that it makes all the difference!
I was extremely pleased with myself when my toddler finished half a glass of this juice and said it was yummy! It took some initial convincing to try it but we got there in the end and she now loves her green juices!
Great idea! I think I willtry with my four!
very interesting this could actually get greens into my son
It’s like a little Science Experiment isn’t it!
I have read loads about juicing recently – seems like the new craze! I am going to look out for a juicer and start juicing to. I have bought Greens 27/7 and there are some great recipes in there!
Juicers can be quite expensive but I’ll definitely be looking into buying one as I don’t think my children are getting enough greens in their diet.
I’m thinking about getting a Nutribullet supposed tom much better than juices and my blender isn’t up to much anymore! Love Jamie’s Turbo recipe, the pineapple will probably be what does the trick, like putting in blueberries and red berries to change the colour a bit! Thank you for all of the info! Great Blog, glad to have found it!
I think juicing is a great way to get fruit and veg into the children. I think we may be doing some experimenting after reading this blog!

I’ve decided this week I’m going to make these for me and my family, we need to get healthy!
would love to get my daughter into more stuff like this, she loves her fruit but only has a select few veggies.
Great post I would be delighted if I could get any of my children to drink one of these.
Would love it if I could get my kids to drink these

Looks yummy, I’m really lucky as my little boy adores all fruit and veg…long may it continue!
That looks a delicious recipe and hopefully my children will think so too!
