Yoga has completely changed my life and has given me the tools to help myself, manage any aches and pains and generally feel stronger and healthier! Here are just some of the benefits of yoga:

  • better posture
  • can relieve back ache
  • increased flexibility
  • toning the body
  • regulate blood pressure
  • relaxation
  • good for the heart and circulatory systems
  • better balance and focus
  • better bone health (prevent osteoporosis)
  • increased immunity
  • can help with anxiety and depression
  • promotes better sleep
  • happiness!

Today I’d like to share a video with you which I recorded to help you take care of your back! It’s 35 minutes long and shows some of my favourite yoga poses to keep my back strong and flexible.

The practice is beginner’s friendly and will help you to build up strength and mobility. It is a general practice, however, so please make sure to check with your health practitioner if you’re ok to practice yoga and if there are any movements that are not recommended for your condition. If you are in acute pain then make sure to allow your body to heal before starting this practice.

Always listen to your body and if anything doesn’t feel right, it’s probably not right for you! If you feel any sharp pain then stop what you are doing.

I would love to hear your feedback of course so let me know what you think and if you have any questions.

Enjoy 🙂

  1. I started having some back pain a few months back and I believe it was because of poor posture at work and sitting down too long without enough breaks. Yoga stretches and back exercises really helped my issue but I know it doesn’t stop here. I haven’t done yoga in a while but I have to get back to it before I start having back aches again! I will bookmark this and try your video next time, thanks!

    1. Yes it’s kind of an ongoing thing. No quick fix I’m afraid! Just integrating some postures during the day can make a huge difference though! Have a look at my neck & shoulder video. You can easily do this at your desk 🙂

  2. I have seen a physiotherapist on the NHS about my back but that failed to help and I was not offered any helpful exercise suggestions. This has given me food for thought.

  3. Great video. There is no doubt that Yoga or Pilates & walking make a huge difference to my scoliosis back pain. It’s so important to do your research & get a properly trained teacher, like you, though!
