Hi, I'm Christine & I love yoga!

When I was in my late teens and early twenties, I suffered from a lot of back pain related so uneven hips and left lumbar scoliosis.

After years of trying out different treatment therapies I found yoga to be the approach that had the biggest effect – not only physically but also emotionally and mentally. I had finally found something that could help me feel strong and in control of my own well-being.

My mission as a yoga teacher is to help you experience the benefits of yoga for yourself, to help you to improve your posture, relieve pain and improve your quality of life.

At Move with Scoliosis we offer innovative and personalised yoga programmes for those with scoliosis. We are committed to working with you so that you can feel and move well in your body now and in the long-term future.

My Story

I had been suffering from back ache since I was a teenager. Due to my scoliosis and generally bad posture I had lots of tension in my upper back and neck and spent a lot of time seeing physiotherapists, osteopaths and chiropractors. I was hoping that they would "fix" me! I found those therapies to be helpful but nothing created a lasting effect.

When I discovered yoga I finally found something that could help me be in control of my own well-being. I could adapt my practice how I wanted to, depending on how I felt in my body. The next few years I went to different yoga classes all over London 2-3 times a week. I practised Ashtanga Yoga for about two years, I tried Iyengar Yoga, Bikram Yoga, Restorative Yoga, Yin Yoga and loved Scaravelli inspired Yoga.

Just before I had my first baby I decided that I wanted to be a Yoga Teacher but it wasn't quite the right time. I continued practising and thanks to yoga I sailed through two pregnancies and wonderful births of my children. I started my teacher training a few months after my second child was born and have loved teaching every since!

My Offerings

I am passionate about helping people who suffer from back ache, scoliosis or other back related conditions to learn about their bodies and how to use yogic postures and techniques so they can feel in control, empowered and live a pain free life!

In my classes I focus on alignment and posture always bearing in mind our individual bodies and shapes. I believe that yoga is for everyone - not just the fit and flexible! With compassion and body awareness we can achieve the transformation that we are looking for.
